For You, My Friends...

The Pastor quoted another one of my favorite verses in church today. One that always makes me think fondly of my dear friends.

Philippians 1:3-4 "I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy..."

Many times I have received prayer requests from friends or in emails, and instead of remembering to pray, I would tend to get busy and move along in my day, and forget them in my prayer time. How terrible of me as a sister in Christ! Think about it, what if you asked your dearest friend to pray for you about a specific, important matter, and they totally forgot? How would you feel? It happens, we get sidetracked, our ADD sets in, kids demand our attention, and we end up letting a friend down. Whether they are aware of it or not.

I have found that I really have to stop immediately what I am doing and pray for others, otherwise, I DO suffer from sidetrackedADDchildrensdemandsitis. I have to write it down right away in my prayer journal. Every time they come to my mind, pray for them. If I get an email, pray for them. If my children are around, we stop what we are doing and pray for them. There have been times I've prayed right then and there with a friend or over the phone with her. What a blessing to have the freedom and ability to go to the Lord for a friend. Sometimes we know specifically what they're going through, sometimes we don't, but the Lord always knows and He will honor our prayers. So, I encourage you, stop what you are doing, if it's possible, and pray for each other. Know that I am praying for you. :)

I thank the Lord for every one of you, my friends.

By the way, you should read the whole, encouraging chapter of Philippians 1, I know you will be blessed. :)

I do the same thing.. often times when people ask for prayer the need is greatly present, so it is great to take the moment and pray because if you wait- your heart intentions may not be fulfilled.

Thank you for the Word!

I too have "ADHD/So many little people live with me & I get easily distracted ITIS".
I have to stop and pray immediately for prayer needs for family & friends, or I might not think about it again for a few days.

Thank you for sharing this!
